MASS GENERAL HOSPITAL: findERnow APP

R Baby continues to team up with the experts at EMNet at Massachusetts General Hospital to fund the pediatric version of the app, findERnow. The app includes pediatric information to help parents and caregivers find the closest ER more likely to be prepared for their child.

FindERnow has now been downloaded more than 60,000 times! Reviews shared on both the Apple Store and Android Store prove it has helped families and saved lives.

2020 saw the completion of a new national survey among U.S. ERs with responses from a majority of the 5,578 ERs nationwide.

Additionally, multiple manuscripts and presentations with R Baby funding over the years has led to 20 published manuscripts and 7 that remain under review.

Some of the newly published manuscripts include:

  1. Pediatric Emergency Care Coordinators in U.S. Emergency Departments
  2. Comparing Definitions of a Pediatric Emergency Department
  3. National Survey of the 2020 Pediatric Emergency Physician Workforce
  4. Patient Insurance Status is Associated with Care Received After Transfer Among Pediatric Patients in the Emergency Department
  5. Receipt of Tele-psychiatry and Emergency Department Visit Outcomes in New York State
  6. Are State Tele-medicine Parity Laws Associated with Greater Use of Tele-medicine in the Emergency Department?
  7. Is the ER Payor Mix Associated with Receipt of Tele-health Services?

Current manuscripts under review include:

  1. Availability of Pediatric Emergency Care Coordinators in U.S. Emergency Departments, 2018
  2. Development of a Unified National Burn Center Database, 2019
  3. The Roles of Pediatric Emergency Care Coordinators in Eight U.S. States
  4. Characteristics of United States Emergency Department Tele-psychiatry in 2019

In addition to the above, the work based on R Baby funded surveys continues to be presented at national conferences, with 5 presentations including Society for Academic Emergency Medicine (SAEM) Annual Meeting in May 2021, and presentations at the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) Research Forum in October 2021.
