Annual Pediatric Infectious Disease Symposium

R Baby’s Annual Pediatric Infectious Disease Symposium led by Mt. Sinai Hospital in New York City is now in its third year and attracts over 400 emergency physicians and the top pediatric speakers nationwide to share the most current and ground-breaking information with pediatric specialists across the nation. The symposium is available via webinar and reaches thousands more doctors around the world.

Goryeb Children's Hospital Education Program

R Baby partners with Goryeb Children’s Hospital at Morristown Medical Center to create a pediatric patient and family centered care program with top ten best practices to train hospitals nationwide on better communication, as well as ten ways to implement necessary changes. This program expanded in 2015 to include a “Difficult Dialogues” series of videos, available widely via webinar. The videos showcase a variety of scenarios (both doctor focused and parent focused) designed to improve communication to help prevent tragedies associated with miscommunication, one of the leading causes of mortality in patients. Inclusion of these videos in medical school curriculums is also being pursued.

Education & Empowerment Program

R Baby educates and empowers parents through our community and media partners about how to prepare for an emergency, when to go to the ER, what to expect in an Emergency Department and how to best advocate for your child, including partnering with leaders in underserved and impoverished communities. Workshops have been presented to Little Sisters of Harlem and Forestdale Community Inc. in Queens and will expand to additional parents in underserved communities through our collaboration with Mt. Sinai Hospital and Baby Buggy Foundation.
